lorien painting

Lórien Eck was born in Los Angeles and raised in Laguna Niguel California. She graduated from San Francisco State University (B.A., Art), St. Lawrence University, New York (M.Ed), Otis College of Art and Design, and CSU International Programs in Florence, Italy.

Her paintings are imbued with spiritual insights that act as a catalyst to transform and uplift individuals and the global community.

“My inspiration often comes from traveling the world on volunteer endeavors, meditation retreats and teaching sojourns. I am deeply moved by the rich textures and brilliant colors of India and the deep jungle greens of Thailand
where voices of chanting monks permeate the silence before dawn. Trekking the Guatemalan highlands brings to mind the coarse threads of hand-woven Mayan textiles and an ancient culture pulsating with fertility. Living abroad in Ghana I was steeped in images of saturated and intricate batik design motifs and the primal reds of the soil.”

Her work has been shown from Malibu, in Santa Monica and Venice, Laguna Niguel, New York, San Francisco Bay Area, and Sardinia, Italy, as well as other venues and public spaces. She has spent the last fourteen years teaching art to Los Angeles youth and is now focusing on her fine art career. Her artwork is dedicated to the loving memory of her sister Alisa Diane Eck.lorien painting

Her current works of art explore the interaction between mythology, human consciousness, and nature. The astonishing images captured by the Hubble telescope provided the impetus for creating her cosmic collections.

She resides and maintains an art studio in California.
